Operation: Acihilles Heel - Part 1
From Booyor
In an attempt to gain an advantage in the war against super-imperialism, the Huntsman’s Pack agreed to help out the Immaculate Dominion. The alien race had wanted to test the Suplex for his genetic material. The DNA of an individual is the most sacred possession in the Immaculate Dominion. Upon arrival at their planet the group was asked to participate in a testing the immaculate Dominion is specifically wanted to test the soup lacks to see if he was a regular mutation or would have the potential to be an Uber. It was rumored that only three Ubers had ever existed in the dominion’s history. The Suplex consulted with his two remaining friends to determine if he should go through what the Immaculate Dominion called the purification process.
He decided that it was worth the risk.
Munin and the Benefactor, with the help of The Man, raced across the galaxy to intercept the immaculate Dominion and their plan. Upon arrival on the immaculate Dominion home world, Munin assumed a demanding, diplomatic role. He asked some of the guards watching over the procedure if the purification process had already begun. The guides informed him that the purification process had indeed begun and that the Suplex had a 50% chance of survival.
The Suplex found himself in an arena with the leader of the immaculate Dominion. He was showing off the power of his empire in a gladiatorial contest where criminals charged against a superhuman. The criminals were crushed like insects and rounded up like animals, all for the benefit of the Suplex. He was then led to an area where scientists hooked him up to a testing facility. Ex-Ray and The Huntsman stood by to observe carefully to make sure that the Suplex was treated properly. The Dominion scientists flipped switches and checked gauges as the purification process began. At first it seemed that the process was going well; the Suplex seemed to be gaining power. But then he began to draw his energy from the room, absorbing everything that was around him. The floor of the testing facility began to creak under the weight of his density until finally it began to break. The Suplex’s skin turned a metallic bronze. His eyes became jet black and he lost the hair on his head.
It was at this moment that The Benefactor and Munin rushed in with The Man. The Man stared intently as things went horribly wrong. The Suplex became so dense that he sunk to the bottom of the floor in the testing facility, unconscious. The Man immediately leapt past the scientists rushing out of the room. He found himself at the spot where the Suplex had once been only seconds before but had dropped floors below. Ex-Ray became insubstantial and sunk through that very same spot. The Man slammed his fist against the concrete in frustration. He ran back into the control room. He grabbed a hold of Munin and demanded that he pull up floor plans of the facility.
The Man rushed with the rest of the group to go find the Suplex. Upon arrival they noticed that his skin was now cracked and seemed as if it was metal that had been superheated. He gave off a faint glow. When The Benefactor reached down to try to heal the Suplex he felt some of his energy drain from him. Through extreme efforts the hero was able to get the Suplex back onto The Man’s ship. He would now be very fatigued. The Man heard footsteps pounding towards where they were. He handed a canister to the Huntsman and told him that he better not be in the room when it went off. Before being teleported out by the Benefactor, the Huntsman through the tear gas pellets at the super soldiers that were rushing into the hallway to try to stop their escape. Aboard the ship, Ex-Ray, the Benefactor and The Man were confronted by technicians who were attempting to take apart The Man's starship. Thankfully they had not gotten too far and in a moment of surprise The Man confused the technicians with a flurry of acrobatic maneuvers, redirection, and a ricochet attack from the Man-arangs while Ex-Ray pummeled them with his supervision. The group was able to lift off without too much delay but when they were in orbit they were presented with a viewscreen full of the Immaculate Dominion Armada. No ship fired in a tense standoff as the group’s spacecraft glided past the enemy. The commander of the enemy armada attempted to communicate with the group, issuing threats. The Man replied, “You’ll see me again. Trust me,” and flipped the communications switch off. As they travel to space the group realized that the ship was taking longer and longer to reach their destination. Discovered that the Suplex was in fact a draining the energy from the engines and life support systems on the ship. It was also discovered that he simply was too heavy to get home.
Through the quick thinking of the Huntsman, Ex-Ray, and the Benefactor, the artificial gravity on the ship was turned off and allowed the Suplex to float effortlessly in the cargo area. The Man used his grappling gloves to secure himself into his pilot's seat. The group was able to make it back to Earth's orbit without being stranded in space.
As they approached Freedom City they were contacted by the Patriot. He was displeased by the fact that the group had passed up an opportunity to have super alien technology in exchange for the Suplex. The group and knew that The Weapon could not fall into enemy hands. The Man promptly switched the communications off, hanging up on the Patriot.
Once the landing zone was secured (and The Weapon was revived) the group was then summoned to meet at the old Atom Family building in downtown Freedom City. The group was told that within two hours they would have to meet with the president of the United States about a plan to fight the super imperialism in Aztlan. The Patriot handed the Huntsman’s Pack a stack of dossiers and file folders containing top-secret information from AEGIS surveillance. While they were questioning the analysts, the Benefactor flew to Dakana to talk to the White Lion about possible weaknesses in Dakana crystal force fields as well as securing an alliance to help in the fight in Aztlan.
A ruse was decided upon where the White Lion and Freedom City would communicate about a possible shipment of crystals in an attempt to lure out some of the supers in the enemy nation. It was also discovered the Blackstar was attempting to contact AEGIS as an informant regarding the Celestial Empire's plans. He agreed in exchange for laboratory time where he could experiment upon his superpower bands.
The plan for fake shipment of crystals worked and drew out the Psion family. As they attacked to the shipment, the group made short work of them through the use of tear gas pellets, x-ray blasts, stun gun shots, ultra-dense wrestling moves, and a disintegrating touch. The Benefactor and then attempted to discern which members of the Psion family should be sent to live with other supers at the Claremont Academy and which ones required a stricter rehabilitation program.
Phase 2 of Operation: Achilles' Heel was ready to commence.
