This is a Mutants and Masterminds adventure from 12/9/06 and 12/27/06:

The swirling mist over his head subsided. “So what does it mean?” questioned The Suplex. “It’s actually quite easy to decipher. You are an octopus. You must consult Eldrich for more details.” The man standing before the wrestler was dressed in an elaborate costume that gave him the resemblance of a snake. The Brown Boa preserved the traditions of Dakana, the leading country in modern Africa. A figure was blurred next to the Suplex. Stutter, whose voice got mixed up in two dimensions, turned to the Huntsman, elected leader of the group. Stutter exerted every effort to stop his blurring so that he could be understood. “There is a natural gas leak at the mine. It has been fixed. Everything seems fine, but the power is spiking in one section of the mine.”

“This is not good.” The Huntsman turned to the White Lion, monarch of Dakana. “Someone wants your advanced Dakana crystals. Someone is still in your mine. We need your fastest craft.”

The Suplex piloted an electromagnetic convertible provided by the Dakanese government. The Huntsman pointed to two locations on the navigational map. “One place we need to check is the actual crystal room, where the Dakana crystals are harvested.” A fierce wind swept over the car. When the Huntsman looked back, the Benefactor was missing from where he had last been seen. “That leaves the reactor room where…” A blue streak blurred towards one side of the mine. In no way could the car keep up with Stutter’s 10,000 mph jog. The Huntsman sat back into his seat. “Good.”

Stutter searched every single door in the reactor section of the mining facility almost simultaneously. A door opened. His eidetic memory absorbed every detail of the layout. He fluttered his way up a dark catwalk. He heard voices murmuring. As he peered over a railing, he could see blood splattered on the concrete below. There would be no guards left behind to help out his team. A man who was completely on fire hovered in the air as he blasted parts of the machinery. A monsterman made of bulky rock thundered up to join him. Stutter counted two other individuals as he ran back to the car.

The car was almost to the mining complex. A blue form streaked to meet it. Stutter slowed down and ran backwards to address the passengers of the car. “What did you see? Are there enemies?” asked the Huntsman. Stutter returned the question with a thumbs up. The Huntsman passed on the rest of the information to the other members of the car. “Dr. Link, contact the city.”

“I’ve got it,” said a six hundred pound gorilla as he jumped off of the moving car. The Silver Ape rolled on impact and, without breaking speed, loped off on all fours back towards Pride City.

“The situation in the mine is worse. We cannot let the thieves acquire that large of a shipment of daka crystals,” warned the Benefactor. “I say we go there first.” As the group discussed a plan of attack, Stutter slowed time enough so that he could get up onto the now-paused car. Reality rippled around him as a giant black circle stretched itself in front of the car. The speeding car flew into the rift as Stutter dropped to the ground.

The crew of the car looked around at all of the bookcases and sofas. A faint soprano sax could be heard as a songbird in the distance. They glanced around at each other.

Stutter saw the Benefactor grab him for a brief second. After a quick blinding light, he opened his eyes to see the inside of the mining complex. He opened his dimensional pocket and the electromagnetic car flopped out.

Stunned Dakanese mining guards looked up from their consoles. They opened fire on the group, most of their shots ricocheting off of the hood of the car.

Continuing from pictures The battle raged on. Through the chaos and destruction two heroes are lost. Dr. Link has his face crushed by a man of solid rock. The Suplex would soon avenge that. The Benefactor seemed to pass from existence, evaporating into sand that rode away on the wind. The group was eventually victorious, but at the loss of two good friends. Perhaps in the future the White Lion would open his borders to foreigners, but the attack from within only strengthened his resolve towards autonomy.

The remainder of the superhero force made their way back to the Sanctum to determine a further course of action. Resting and healing, an intruder alert resounded throughout the facility. The Huntsman wearily opened the front door into the continuous blizzard of the Arctic.

"No...it can't be."

The Huntsman brought the stranger in from the cold to reunite with the rest of the group. The Benefactor's master had not completed his purposes yet.

The group was contacted by AEGIS and the president of the United States to rise against the increasing Super threat throughout the world. They were given the mission to check up on the Freedom League's space station.

Upon arrival a fetid stench assaulted their senses. As the group explored the station, they found members of the League, as well as the members of the Atom Family, brutally murdered. The Celestial Empire was still free to exact its tyrrany. The once-loved protectors of Freedom City were no more. And a mysterious being known as Agent M resided in the middle of the conspiracy.

Will the nameless superhero team be able to defend Earth's galactic borders as well as maintain justice and liberty in light of Suprevlia's claim on genetic superiority? Will the team be able to not kill each other and innocents in the process?
